As the water and the clouds play hide and seek

When you’re drowning in misery, and then suddenly someone brings in front of you a platter with a note saying “Ikke Egg”.

When you’re on an island connected by a shallow sea bed, and you go like “Is it just me, or is the tide rising?”, and then when everyone runs acorss the shallow, racing against the quickly rising, grinning, malignant tide. And then She proves her might, and wettens your feet.

When you are on the fjord shore, breathing in the powerful rays of the Sun smiling on the water, and mountains, miles in front, and the cold wind caresses you, and you pray.

When you slowly enter the sea, and freeze, and reach a stage of numbness – comfortably unconscious.

When those beautiful chubby ladies, who, invisible to most others work so hard to make you so comfortable, smile at you every morning, and teaches you a thing or two, and give small motherly advices.

When your otherwise wisely silent roommate comes in alcoholised at 3.00AM, and engages you in a gripping conversation about scientology, aethism, fundamentals of religion, and tells you about his religion which worships Bacon (according to which all life arose from bacon trees (mistakenly known to us mortals as pigs)).

When your fingers subtly, carefully, precariously, caressingly applies pressure on to the button, praying, hoping, willing, and you hear a click, and you see that perfect image which you wanted to see.

When you lose yourself in soul-drifting, natural, music played by powerful musicians, whose story will, some day be narrated by grandparents to grandchildren.

When you see the drop of water inside you, which came from the ocean.

..

For a moment, for a second, for a unit of time.

You find peace.

You lose your self to your Self.

You find love.

The drop connects to the ocean.

The weights which were weighing your heart down lifts.

Indifference becomes the love it truly is. Love becomes beyond explanation. Missing becomes energy. Dislikes, those ameobas, attain the size of an ameoba.

Wheat grains stand contrast against the dull yellow fields, and displays the sun as its own.

..

For a moment, for a second, for a unit of time.

PayPal opening up to developers… Possibilities and challenges

Dear readsfolk,

PayPal, the e-commerce division of eBay, is opening up to developers on November 3rd. I happened to chance across a cool video of the announcement on TechCrunch

Opening up to developers do mean a lot of possibilities. Like TechCrunch comments, the scenes shown in the video may not happen in the near future, but it is definitely a start, and we can look forward to it.

I would definitely love to see a time when I could walk into a shop and pay using my PayPal id.  Now that would truly be cashless shopping! And of course, it does increase physical security – you can walk around with no money, or credit cards…

Throwing it open for developers could see fantastic ideas being visualised. It might be the first time that such a big ecommerce venture is opening up, and it does take the idea of developing way beyond iPhone apps.

However, it does throw open a lot of security related questions, especially since we are talking about the most sensitive sector here – banking. For example, if PayPal is serious about the fingerprint scanning shown in the video, either they will have to develop an entirely new system of authentication and encryption, or they will have to form an addon system, which will supply the username and password to the existing system on verification of the fingerprint. But then, another level of system adds on to security risks, and if this system is hosted by somebody else (which would probably be, in the case of developers) then how safe is our authentication details? And therefore, our money?

These are challenges which PayPal will have to address, but I’m hoping that they will! Lets see, and hope for a PayPal future ;)

The butterfly

Once there was a butterfly. She never thought she was beautiful.

One day, she did not know whether she was awake, or dreaming.

It was horrible. Some things were pulling at her wings, making it hurt excruciatingly. She screamed, and cried, and after a while, she became numb. The pulling continued. They ripped her wings apart, little by little, making it pain, more and more.

Mmmm… Aaaah. The beautiful pain. The pain which is beauty. The pain which gave a comfort. An orgasmic pleasure.

They pulled, and ripped, and burnt and hurt.

She cried, through her numbness.

“Don’t worry,” they said, “Maybe you’ll grow prettier wings!” And they smiled. Showing all their teeth.

And they continued tearing her wings apart. One by one, they tore at her. Poked needles into her. Raped her. Burnt her. Bit her. Ate her. Scratched at her wounds. And hurt her more. And applied chemicals to not stop the bleeding, and increase pain. Little by little, they edged through her beautiful wings.

“But..” She said, “But… I had beautiful wings…”

She had. Not anymore. Not anymore…

The ideology of chances is bullshit. The moment you make a choice, your life alters into an irreversible unique path. You have no choice but to traverse it. And you have no chances.
